You start off with white clay that just went through the slab roller, you smooth it out with a rib and then you put your clay on top of the plate mold that you have. You gentile push down so it molds into the clay, make sure you cut of any loose clay. You a couple minutes for that to dry and then you take the clay away from the mold. You now rib the plate again and you put the black under glaze on it two times in different directions, let each time dry. Once that is all dry, you can trace your image on there and they you can start your plate!
Successful
A successful Sgraffito looks neat and you can see the picture, there should be half white and black in the picture.
I chose this because I thought it was a nice picture and I really loved how the picture shows the roots and trees.
